Wow. I just returned home from my family dinner and I'm stuffed.
My family left for my uncle's house around 6 and the first bus journey past by without anything interesting happening. The second however, proved to be quite an interesting experience. We without boarded the bus without any incident and the bus began journey. Not long after, the bus stopped at another bus-stop and thats where the problems started arising. For some unknown reason, the bus door was jammed and kept opening and closing repeatedly. My father began to joke that the bus was haunted but as the bus could not move due to the door being opened, the bus driver gave us free ride tickets and we waited for the next bus. It had came to our attention that our bus was blocking many other buses and causing a lot of inconvenience to the rest,
Just after the bus driver had set up a road signal, the bus door suddenly closed and he could get the bus moving again. We all happily piled into the bus and it restarted on its journey. Not long after, the bus door suddenly jammed again but this time it was in the middle of the road. Luckily for us, the bus driver manage to close it and it continued all the way to our bus stop where the bus door jammed again. This time, all the passengers alighted and my family and I walked towards the flat of our uncle's house. When we reached the level of where the house was situated on, we noticed that the bus that we just took had managed to move again. But this time, it was only a stop away from the interchange so it was pretty safe.
By the time we reached the house, the rest of the people had already begun. After apologising for our late arrival, we joined them for dinner. There was a wide spread of dishes and I was spoiled for choice. A lot of my favourite dishes were there and I could not stop my mouth from salivating. (It still is at the thought of the food.. now i'm hungry...) Here are the steps for what I did then:
1.Grab food with chopsticks
2. Dip in sauce (vegetables not applicable)
3. Put in mouth
4.Chew
5.Swallow
6.Drink soup
7.???
8.PROFIT
After dinner, all of us trooped into the living room and sat on the sofas and chairs reading newspaper, watching television and eating new year goodies. My cousin arrived slightly later after we finished our dinner and it was pretty obvious from her hair and make-up that she got caught in the rain but none of us really did point out that her mascara was smeared so she went to join my parents who were still eating.
Finally at about 9.30 (my cousin had left earlier), my family and I bid the rest farewell and went on the long journey back home...

Last Friday, something unusual and surprising took place. Well, it may be normal for any other person but it certainly was surprising for it to happen to that particular person...
It happened during English lesson, the whole class was not so quietly doing the work that our teacher had assigned us to do when suddenly we heard a ringing. There was silence as we all waited with bated breath to see who was the guilty culprit. Finally, John (not his real name) slowly took out his cellphone and turned it off. I was shocked as I had never expected him to get caught with his cellphone turned on. He was the kind of person who did his homework on time, got good scores in examinations, definitely the person who paid attention in class and took down notes. Not the person to get in trouble.
By that time, the whole class was in an uproar and many students were asking the teacher to confiscate the phone. There were those however, who were asking the rest to don't make trouble for him. The teacher at that time was at a lost at what to do as she had not heard his phone ring and John was a very well behaved student. Our class previously had a student who had his phone confiscated and his parents had to write a letter to the school in order for him to get it back and he was supposed to keep it at home for a month.
The class was as many teachers like to say "a fish market" and there were students arguing with the teacher that she should confiscate his phone. Finally, the teacher decided to confiscate his phone and walked back to the teacher's table while the rest of the class was buzzing with excitement over what happened.
Even though John deserved his punishment, I think that the class should not have gotten into an uproar over it and cause the teacher problems. I'm not sure what happened to the cellphone after that but I've heard from my friends that it got returned to him.

Last Saturday, I was taking a bus home after band. After waiting a short while, the bus 196 came and i gratefully boarded it.
As the bus was quite crowded, I had no choice but to stand. What stood out the journey from all the countless ones I had taken was that there was a middle-aged man who was talking and swearing very loudly on the phone.Neither the commuters nor the bus driver did anything and seemed to be trying their very best to ignore him.
After awhile, the bus reached a bus-stop and a few people alighted. After watching them alight, I turned my head and was surprised to find a middle-aged lady waiting by my side. I hurriedly stood to one side to let her past. However, that little episode failed to miss the middle-aged man's eye and he started to direct his rant at me. Screaming at me with both hokkien and english profanities, the gist of what he said was that I should seat down when I could and not block others. He also said many other things such as students carry the world(?) in their school bag.
When he started screaming, I immediately sat down and ignored him for the rest of his rant which lasted about 3 minutes. To make matters worse, a lady behind decided that he was right and joined him to rain down "justice" on me. I did not point out the fact that there was no seat to sit in as the lady whom I was blocking was sitting in the only available one and I did not know that she had to alight as she neither said nor tapped me as I was afraid that he would get physical.
By the time the bus reached the bus interchange, my face was as red as a beetroot from all the curious stares I got from the other passengers. Rushing from the bus the moment the bus opened, I immediately went to the queue for my second bus and hoped that that incident would be forgotten by all those on that bus...

Have you ever had a point of time when problems come together perhaps by coincidence or our own fault and suddenly seem a whole lot harder to solve? Well, yesterday was such a time for me and it wasn't pleasant...
It was like most of every other Fridays I had last year and this year. After leaving band at around 6.30 I would take public bus home and mostly slept during the 45 minute journey which did not include the wait for the bus. Yesterday was no different, after reaching the doorsteps of my house at about 7.30, I fumbled for my keys in my bag. At that point of time, my whole body was exhausted and I wished for nothing more than slouching on my sofa and drinking a soft drink. To my surprise and despair, i realised that I had left my keys in the house. Well, you might think that it was easy to just ring the doorbell and wait for someone to open the door. However, none of my family members were at home and to make matters worse, i knew that they would only come back at around 11p.m. My cellphone was also out of service so there was no means for me to contact them and hope for them to rush home.
I was not as worried at that point of time as I thought that I could slack at my uncle's house just a few blocks away from mine. I thought that would be the end of my problem. Wrong. There was no one at my uncle's house. It was then that i realised that I actually might have to wait 4 hours outside my house for my parents to get home. To make matters worse, I only had $2 so I wouldn't be able to eat dinner.
Grinding my teeth in frustration and anger, I carried my ever growing heavier bag to the nearby playground and began to think of a plan. But here's the catch, I really hate asking strangers for help unless there was a life and death situation. Even though waiting outside my house for 4hours was kind of serious i don't suppose it concerns my life. I hope. So out of the window went the asking-a-random-passerby-for-his/her-cellphone plan. My parents would probably not appreciate me breaking the door just so I could get into the house and *ahem* play Dota. Actually they would kill me and since Chinese New Year was just round the corner, I still want to live so I had to think of other alternatives.
Since I was getting weird looks from the children and teachers from the childcare center next to the playground, I decided to walk to my Alma Mater St Hilda's to see if I can find a friend to lend his cellphone. Fortunately for me, I managed to find my ex-classmate and called my parents and my mother reached home at about 9.30 along with dinner. In the mean time, I bought a 1.5 litres bottle of Coke and waited outside my house along with a book. Even though I had lost about 2 hours doing nothing I'm still thankful I didn't have to wait another 2 hours.

Today school ended at 4 but I went to band until 6 and reached home at 7 and noticed I was the only one at home. Feeling very tired, i decided to bathe before destressing myself which in this case is playing DotA (Defense of the Ancients) with my classmates.
After checking my facebook and its applications, i logged into Garena and MSN instant messaging to see who were online. After a couple of phone calls and minutes, we managed to arrange a match with
Patrick,
Reuben Choo,
Shi Jan and me against some other oppoents match.
As the time before the match started slowly began to shorten, anticipation and fear built up within me. As this was my first time playing a match with so many of my classmates, i was naturally excited but afraid that i would make a fool of myself. Finally after what seemed like an eternity, the match finally started. All thoughts of fear were forgotten as i was absorbed into the game. Timing, the correct combinations of abilities and strategy were all that filled my mind as my classmates and I strove to defeat the opposing team.
However, due to my lack of experience and skills, i kept getting the timing wronged and lost alot of vitality points that was essential to my characters well-being in the game. As a result, I was unable to control my character for a temporary period of time for many times. (In summary, I'm lousy at the game and kept dying.)
Even though our team was seriously handicapped because of me, they had the advantage of experience and by combining our abilities and attacking together, we managed to push the opposite team. The enemy however, would not give up so easily and tried their best to counter us and to cut thing short we....(wait for it....)
(It's kind of hard to see but one of them has a score of 0/15)
WON! Lost.
Even though i was
probablydefinitely the cause of their failure, my classmates did not blame me and we discussed homework after the match before retiring for the night.
Personally I feel that games are not waste of time as it can help to build fellowship among peers and help to relax people so they have more energy to study :)
Welcome to my blog! I don't know what to start my new blog with so i thought i would just share my thoughts about blogging :)
Personally, i feel that blogging is unsafe as anyone can read it unless you lock it. It is somewhat similar to offering your personal information to strangers and saying wrong things may result in trouble. However, i feel that blogs are also quite useful as it provides and free and easy way to share information to the public. For example, people can use blogs to provide information on games to help their fellow gamers. I can also be used as a food guide to guide people to good food.
To conclude i would like to say that we as bloggers should be responsible in what we write and not use it to flame or troll others.
